Brief bio of Owen: He was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an undergraduate at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He finished a B.S. in computer science and an A.B. in philosophy, and then an M.A. in philosophy. Then he moved to Columbus, Ohio to work on a Ph.D. in philosophy at the Ohio State University.

He is currently a visiting faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at Oberlin College.
